I challenged the Prime Minister to come back to Wrexham and stop her police cuts during Prime Minister’s Questions today.

I also spoke out about anti-social behaviour in Wrexham during a Queen’s Speech debate later on.

The number of police officers on Wrexham’s streets was a definite issue during the recent election campaign -; people want to see more police, and action on anti-social behaviour.

That’s why I met the council earlier this week, to discuss ways I can work with them on the issue, and raised issues they raised with me in the Commons today. Confusion over the legislation on legal highs is hampering work to tackle the issue -; and it is a problem across the country. I will be working with MPs from across the House on this, and I called on the Government today to work with us on the issue.

Concern is growing over police numbers too, which is why I challenged the Prime Minister to do more today.

The public have made clear they want to see more police on Wrexham’s streets -; the Prime Minister and the Government must listen to them. That’s why I spoke out today, and why I will be backing Labour amendments to the Queen’s Speech to support our emergency services.
