CUTS to army reservist provision in North Wales are harming the Government’s attempts to keep people in the armed forces.
I raised my concerns during a debate on the Government’s Armed Forces (Flexible Working) Bill this week, where I spoke about the Government’s decision to take a key reservist headquarters away from Wrexham’s Hightown Barracks.
The Government are saying they want to make it easier for people to stay in the Armed Forces -; and yet here in Wrexham, they are removing a key headquarters from our Barracks and transferring it to Bristol.
There is still a high level of concern about these proposals, which I have raised directly with Army officers at the Barracks. I’ll keep on working to ensure Wrexham’s Military tradition is recognised.
