Parliament has now released claims for the year 2008-9 Please click here for more information.

The independent Legg review into MP’s expenses has now concluded. The review has found there were no issues with any of my allowances.

I appreciate that many constituents will be concerned at many of the claims made by Members of Parliament and reported over the last week.

I am making public all of my claim forms and relevant receipts.

I will try to explain the system in general and how it relates to my work as an MP.

I incur additional costs as Wrexham’s Member of Parliament as I work in two places – Wrexham and London.

Most weeks, I leave Wrexham on the 7 am train to London on Monday and return on Thursday evening, arriving sometime between 8 pm and 10.30 pm. As my family home is in Wrexham and I cannot commute daily, my designated second home is in London and all of my claims relate to my designated second home.

I own a one bedroom flat and I have moved flats in London once since becoming an MP.

I do not believe any of my claims are in any way questionable – the vast majority of the claims relating to my additional home are mortgage interest, council tax, utility bills and service charge.

I have made three claims for furniture for my flat in the last five years.

If you would like to discuss my accommodation arrangements or others claims in more detail, then please fix an appointment to see me.

Please click on the link below to look at my claims in detail.  The files will open in a new window.
