Dementia Friends training planned

A SERIES of sessions are to be held for shop and retail staff in Wrexham next week to help raise dementia awareness.

The sessions are being run by the Alzheimer’s Society, and supported by the Dementia Friendly Wrexham Association – and by me. They hep to raise awareness of people living with dementia and how retail staff can help.

The sessions will be held on Tuesday at Bank Street Coffee Shop and Wednesday at Eagles Meadow Training Room. More details can be obtained from Mr Lucas’ office on 01978 355743.

These sessions are part of a concerted push to make our town friendlier for people living with dementia. I’m grateful to the Alzheimer’s Society for all the work they have done already, and for running the sessions next week.

I’ve also been heartened by the Wrexham businesses who have taken up the challenge and who have taken part already – or who will take part in these events.
