Good news on water jobs

WATER company Severn Trent have announced they will be keeping some staff in Wrexham after buying out Dee Valley Water.

It is good to hear they will now be keeping some staff in Wrexham – for the time being, at least. However, this is a business which is focussed on maximising profits, and which paid its Chief Executive a £2.4 million basic salary in the last year.

I will be watching its activities locally very closely in the future, and I continue to support a not for profit model for water in the style of Welsh Water.
