I have asked Minsters, once more, to commit to transport investment in North Wales.
Securing cross-border transport is vital. Transport Ministers were reminded of the need for investment by politicians in neighbouring constituencies in England and Wales during questions in the Commons today as both I and Chester's Chris Matheson were among those who raised the issue.
I asked Ministers to follow the lead of the Welsh Government and invest in North Wales.
The Welsh Government has invested locally in cross-border transport projects and I am pleased that the Wrexham to Chester line work is set to complete in April of this year - albeit late.
We all understand that infrastructure projects take time – but they also need political will, Ministerial backing, and most importantly, investment. There is cross-party support for investment in North Wales and North West England – and we will keep pushing Ministers to put their money where their mouth is.
