Labour Friends of the Forces group to be set up in Wrexham

ARMY veterans from the Wrexham area are set to meet Labour’s Shadow Defence Secretary to talk about setting up a local Labour Friends of the Forces group.ILweb2.jpg

The meeting, for Labour members and supporters, will enable the group to discuss some of the issues which they face and hear about how Labour Friends of the Forces works. It is one of several meetings Shadow Defence Secretary Nia Griffiths will be holding during the day .

The Labour Party has a longstanding relationship with the Armed Forces, across the country and in Wrexham.

In Wrexham, I know there are party supporters who have armed forces links – I have campaigned alongside them, attended events with them – and worked alongside them as elected representatives.

Labour Friends of the Forces is about making sure those who have served our country have a voice in our party, and I am delighted that Nia Griffiths will be talking about its work as part of her visit to our area.
