Making Brexit work for jobs

ACCESS to the single market – while managing migration – will be the key to making Brexit work.ILweb2.jpg

I’ve written an article for the Tribune Group of Labour MPs analysing the Brexit vote and the lessons for the Labour party – and the country in its aftermath.

The piece can be found here: http://www.labourtribunemps.org/left_case_for_staying_in_the_single_market

People voted to Leave the European Union in the Referendum.

There are a range of reasons and motivations among Leave voters, but few would want to see thousands of jobs lost if major exporters  cannot operate effectively here. That is why it is so crucial that we get as much access to the Single Market as possible – with that access being squared with workable migration rules.

That is the challenge ahead.
