This page has been set up to help me ensure your views are heard over the Post Office Proposals for Wrexham

Post Office Ltd. tell me that people just are not using Post Offices as much these days, and so they cannot afford to keep them all open.

They say if they close some, it will save the rest. Even the Federation of Subpostmasters, who actually run our Post Offices, and Postwatch , the Post Office users body, has agreed with this approach.

If we do want to keep open your local Post Office, we have to tell the Post Office just how important it is to the area. As your M.P., I want to know your views.

As part of the proposals locally, Post Office Limited is consulting on closing four post office branches in the current Wrexham constituency.

These are Acton, Bradley, Rhosrobin and Summerhill.

In my experience these consultations are not easily affected by crude petitions. They can, however, be influenced by letters from individuals, especially if they demonstrate that the proposals would cause you real hardship or that they have overlooked prospects for new local business.

If you or your friends and family use any of the Post Offices concerned I would encourage you to write directly to the consultation team with your comments.

You can write to:

Or e-mail Consultation@postoffice.co.uk

In addition, I am compiling a survey of the views of constituents on the proposed closures. This will allow me to put a considered case to the Post Office that I hope will have more impact.  Copies of the survey form have already been delivered to households in the areas affected but I am also running the survey online for people who have not received a survey or who have been unable to fill their forms in.

I will keep anyone who contacts me on this matter informed of progress.
