Standing up for Dee Valley Water

DVW.jpg

I know a lot of people are concerned about Dee Valley Water and I raised those concerns in Parliament this week.

Working alongside Susan Elan Jones, the MP for Clwyd South, I also brought the Shadow Secretary of State Jo Stevens to North Wales to meet with unions and staff at the Dee Valley Headquarters.

I will continue to push the Government on their response to this takeover, and will ask Ministers to answer local people’s questions in a Parliamentary debate as soon as possible.

Since these proposals first came to public attention, there has been real concern among people about what they will mean for our local water company.

A takeover by a large company like Severn Trent, headquartered outside Wales, will have a major impact on our area and on Welsh jobs and services.

A petition has been set up on the issue which you can sign here: https://www.change.org/p/welsh-parliament-save-our-local-water-company

If you have any concerns about the proposals you think I can help with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
